Most times when computers slow down noticeably the cause is registry corruption. Registry corruption builds up relatively slowly deep inside our Windows operating systems. There really is no viable way to stop this corruption from creeping up the way it does. In other words, one can’t be proactive about registry corruption. The best we can do is clean the corruption out after it starts to build.

Computer Parts

The term registry corruption simply means there are files in the Windows registry that are not needed or not wanted. So, how can unneeded and unwanted files develop inside an operating system? To answer this question you have to understand that information is always being written to the registry. Because of this, duplicate files could end up in there. Duplicate registry files can cause the computer to do strange things. This is because it is hard for the computer to do two identical operations at the same time and because of this it usually won’t perform the intended operation at all.

In all of the above cases, the solution is to clean the registry of the bad files and replace it with good ones. The quickest and most pain-free method of doing this is by using a registry cleaner. Windows has built-in registry programs designed to help us in our mission to keep our registries clean, but they do require some work and often take a lot of time to use. Also, they have the potential to be confusing and because of this end up not working very well. The downside to using a registry cleaner is there is some cost involved. However, it is up to us to decide whether we would like to do a considerable amount of work or pay a small amount from our pockets to get our very slow computer is back to running at their full potential.
